Meet Cole, a handsome blue Doberman with a goofy personality and an enormous heart. This 70-pound lovebug is convinced he’s a lap dog and is happiest leaning against his people, cuddling on the couch, or soaking up affection. Between his silly upside-down smiles, adorable “seal” impressions, and classic Doberman stalk, Cole’s quirky personality is sure to make you smile. He loves people and thrives on human companionship.
When he isn’t cuddling, Cole is ready to play! Fetch, tug-of-war, and keep-away are favorites, though he can occasionally get carried away and play too roughly. He knows sit, down, stay, and go to your room, and would benefit from continued training with leash manners, polite greetings, and appropriate play. He needs regular exercise, mental enrichment, and an adopter who can help channel his enthusiasm. Cole is very interested in other dogs but can become overly excited and vocal when meeting them. An experienced handler who can manage his excitement and facilitate appropriate introductions is important.
He may enjoy a compatible canine companion, but Cole needs a cat-free home and careful management around small animals due to his strong prey drive. At home, Cole enjoys relaxing close to his people and generally behaves well indoors. He is crate-trained but struggles with confinement and separation from his family, so he’ll benefit from patience and gradual alone-time training. A secure yard is ideal, though an active home committed to daily exercise could also be a good fit.
Stuffed toys require close supervision because he may swallow pieces, and his skin and coat will benefit from ongoing care.
