Meet Loco, a 7-year-old red-and-rust Doberman with the perfect blend of intelligence, loyalty, and affection. Her foster describes her as a true people-pleaser who is eager to learn, quick to understand boundaries, and happiest when she's close to her family. Loco is house-trained, knows several commands—including sit, stay, come, and roll over—and walks beautifully on a leash. She rides calmly in the car and is highly trainable, making steady progress with consistency and positive reinforcement.

Like many Velcro Dobermans, Loco forms strong bonds with her people. She loves to be involved in whatever you're doing, frequently checks in throughout the day, and is happiest curled up beside you—or on top of you if you'll let her. She is also wonderful with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion. She enjoys wrestling and running with her foster siblings but is respectful when they are ready to take a break. Loco's biggest challenge is separation anxiety. She becomes distressed when left alone, especially if confined to a crate.

Despite this, she is actively making progress in her foster home and Loco's intelligence and eagerness to please suggest she will continue to make progress with patient, consistent training. Because of this, she would do best with adopters who have the time and commitment to continue building her confidence and helping her feel secure when left alone. A home with another confident dog would also be a great fit, as she enjoys canine companionship.

Loco is also wonderfully goofy and playful! One of her favorite quirks is dramatically rolling onto her back for belly rubs—whether she's on grass, carpet, hardwood floors, or even gravel. She loves daily walks, spending time outdoors, and being included in whatever her family is doing. Loco is looking for a family that understands the loyal, sensitive nature of Dobermans and is willing to invest in helping her reach her full potential. In return, she'll reward you with unwavering companionship, endless cuddles, and a loyal shadow who will always be by your side.

Special Note about Loco: Loco has hypothyroidism and takes a low cost thyroid medication 2x daily.
