Candy is a sweet, low-key, and incredibly loving girl who settles into new environments quickly and asks for very little beyond affection, companionship, and cuddles. She has shown herself to be smart, eager to please, and deeply people-oriented. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Candy may be your perfect match. She thrives on human connection and loves cuddling up close and following her people from room to room.
Candy can be nervous at first, but she acclimates quickly once she feels safe and loved. Candy does well with other dogs and she enjoys playing and will let others know when she’s had enough. However, she’s still learning boundaries and may not always recognize when another dog is finished playing. She has not been tested with cats, but she has seen rabbits and chickens and, while interested, is easily redirected. She already knows several commands including sit, stay, come, here, and leave it. She is approval-motivated and eager to learn, though she still needs leash training and continued guidance with manners and boundaries.
Candy also enjoys car rides and seems excited by all the new experiences life has to offer. Her favorite activities include playing fetch with a Chuckit ball launcher, supervised rabbit chasing, cuddling on the couch or floor, and simply resting near her person. She is working on settling when alone and may bark excessively at times when crated. Candy would likely do well in many types of homes, whether calm or moderately active, as she’s still discovering the world around her and building confidence. More than anything, she needs a family willing to give her plenty of affection and include her as part of everyday life.
