Rizzo - Hospice Care

Meet Rizzo! This sweet girl arrived with her siblings and young mother in very poor condition — underweight, covered in mange, and burdened with parasites. A concerning heart murmur led to a follow-up echocardiogram, where Rizzo was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) - a rare and congenital heart defect.

TOF is a combination of four heart abnormalities that make it difficult for Rizzo’s heart to pump enough oxygen-rich blood through her body. There is no cure, but with the right care—including Pimobendan, supplements, a heart-healthy diet, and ongoing cardiology monitoring—Rizzo can remain comfortable and enjoy the time she has. Rizzo’s medication costs $130 per month, and her bi-yearly echocardiograms cost nearly $600 each.

Even with her diagnosis, Rizzo is still playful, spunky, and endlessly snuggly. She will remain in our hospice program, surrounded by love, safety, and comfort for as long as her heart allows. Our promise to her is simple: to give her a life filled with warmth, joy, and gentle care every single day.

If you’d like to be part of Rizzo’s story, you can sponsor her ongoing care or donate toward her cardiology visits, medications, and heart-healthy diet. Every gift helps us give her the very best days possible. If you’re able to donate Pimobendan, the medication she relies on, that support is incredibly meaningful as well.

Please include “Rizzo” in the comments so we know your gift is designated for her. ❤️
