Meet Grady, a goofy, affectionate, and curious Doberman puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart! He loves being close to his people, playing with other dogs, and exploring the world around him. Whether he's cuddled up with a favorite chew toy or enthusiastically inviting a friend to play, Grady brings plenty of love and entertainment to every day.
Grady had a difficult start to life. He and his sister were found on the side of the road, and Grady is believed to have sustained a broken leg after being hit by a car. He has undergone surgery and is healing well, but he will need a committed adopter to continue his physical therapy and gradual return to exercise. Like many young Dobermans, Grady is energetic and inquisitive and is still learning his manners and boundaries. He's food-motivated, knows several basic cues, and enjoys puzzle toys, chewing, and spending time with his people. He thrives with structure and routine and will need an experienced owner committed to ongoing training, impulse control, and confidence-building.
Grady loves other dogs, but his enthusiastic, sometimes rough play style means he is still learning to respect their cues. A confident, stable canine companion who enjoys playful interactions could be a great fit. Grady has also shown resource guarding around food and high-value treats, so careful management, separate feeding, and continued training are essential. He experiences some separation anxiety and can be timid around cars, bicycles, and other unfamiliar stimuli, making patient, positive exposure important.
Grady would do best in an active, structured home with experienced dog owners who can provide the exercise, enrichment, and guidance he needs. A home without small children or cats is recommended, and a stable canine companion would be a bonus.
Despite his rough start, Grady remains a sweet, resilient boy who has so much love to give. With the right family to support his recovery and help him grow, Grady has all the potential to become an incredible lifelong companion!
