Meet Zora, a sweet and affectionate senior Doberman who is happiest when she's close to her people. This beautiful girl has fully embraced the quieter side of life and is looking for a home where she can enjoy comfort, companionship, and plenty of cuddles. Zora is house-trained, trustworthy when left alone, and rides beautifully in the car. She is a calm, low-energy dog who prefers lounging on the couch to playing with toys and would much rather spend her day snuggled up beside you than chasing a ball.
While Zora is loving with those she trusts, she can be reserved with new people and prefers to warm up at her own pace. She may offer a warning bark when unsure, but she responds best when her boundaries are respected and she is given time to build confidence. Once she feels comfortable, her affectionate and loyal personality shines through. Zora has done well around a cat in her foster home and has shown no significant prey drive. She is generally calm around other dogs but would do best as the only dog in the home.
Her ideal home would be a quiet, low-traffic environment with few visitors and no small children, and with experienced dog owners who understand that trust is earned. Because of age-related mobility limitations, Zora needs a home with minimal stairs and a flat, easily accessible yard. She is also currently undergoing heartworm treatment. Zora's foster describes her as sassy, sweet, and loving—and says she fell in love with her almost instantly. If you're looking for a devoted companion whose favorite place in the world is right beside you, Zora may be the perfect match.
