Meet Zoie, a sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented dog who has grown in confidence during her time in foster care. She is happiest when she is included in daily activities and enjoys attention, pets, and being close to her people. After exercise, she settles nicely and loves curling up on her bed with her blanket. Zoie is crate trained and does very well with her routine, often choosing her crate as a comfortable place to rest.
She knows sit, stay, and come, has a strong recall, and is working on place. She is eager to learn and responds well to positive reinforcement. Zoie has lived with a male dog and enjoys play, though she can become vocal and overstimulated during outdoor play, and will need continued training to improve. She will also need ongoing work on leash manners. She has moderate energy, enjoys spending time in a fenced yard, and benefits from regular exercise and enrichment. Zoie may jump when excited, has mild separation anxiety, and can be anxious in the car.
She would do best in an active home with experienced dog owners, no small children, and a securely fenced yard. Zoie will also require ongoing care for her skin condition, which she tolerates well. Zoie is a sweet, resilient dog who is eager to learn and form a strong bond with her people. With continued structure, training, and affection, she will make a devoted and loving companion.
