Meet Dax, a friendly, outgoing, and loyal dog with a high-energy personality! He thrives on interaction and is happiest in a busy home surrounded by people and other dogs. He has done well with children ages 10 and up and especially enjoys attention and engagement. While not tested with younger children, he would likely do well, keeping in mind his enthusiastic (and sometimes clumsy) play style. Dax is social with dogs of all sizes and loves energetic play that involves running and chasing. He has shown no aggression and would benefit from a home with another playful dog. While he has interacted with cats, he was very interested and tried to chase it, so a cat-free home is recommended right now.

He currently enjoys two to three one-mile walks per day and playtime in a fenced area. He walks nicely on leash and rides well in the car. He also enjoys chew treats! Dax is very food-motivated and knows commands such as sit and crate. He would benefit from continued obedience training. Dax is comfortable in his crate for short periods when people are home; however, he struggles with separation anxiety and will need continued training to be comfortable being alone for longer periods of time, as he can become destructive. For this reason, he will do best in an active household where someone is home much of the time. With structure, exercise, and companionship, Dax will be an affectionate, energetic, and devoted companion
