Meet Dex — Your Adventure Buddy in the Making! 🐾

Dex is a striking 3-year-old Doberman with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This 95-pound black-and-rust hunk is looking for an experienced, active home that understands the needs of a working breed and is ready to provide the structure, exercise, and mental engagement he craves.

Dex is both house and crate trained and has a solid foundation of obedience. He knows several commands including sit, down, stay, come, wait, place, and shake. He’s also a blast to work out with — he’ll jog alongside you, play flirt pole, chase water from a hose, or trot next to a bike. He needs vigorous exercise twice a day to stay balanced and fulfilled.

He thrives on routine and purpose. Like many working-breed dogs, if you don’t give Dex a job, he’ll make one for himself — usually by collecting random household items when left unsupervised. He’s still learning how to reliably release high-value objects, so his future family should be comfortable continuing this training.

Dex is friendly with new people and enjoys car rides. He’s not overly clingy, but he does like to be involved and will follow you from room to room. He’s made great progress with leash manners, though he can still be reactive around other dogs and barks at strangers. He also tends to bark excessively if he’s crated or tethered while you’re relaxing nearby—but he settles down just fine when you’re out of sight or busy.

Dex would do best in a home with:
✔️ Experienced dog owners
✔️ An active lifestyle with structure and routine
✔️ No small children or cats
✔️ Either no dogs or one well-matched female dog

Dex is a confident, intelligent, and playful boy who needs a home that can keep up with his energy and continue to guide him as he matures. With the right leadership and commitment, Dex will make an incredibly loyal and adventurous companion.

If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic companion who will keep up with your active life and keep you laughing with his big personality, Dex might be your guy!
