Meet Chloe – the Wiggly Worm With a Heart of Gold

Chloe came to us in heartbreaking shape — skin and bones, sun-bleached from too much time outside and not enough care. But little by little, she’s leaving that rough beginning behind. She’s gaining weight, discovering confidence, and transforming into an absolute heartbreaker with her sweet eyes and joyful spirit.

Chloe is proving to be cat-neutral to cat-positive. She’s met her feline foster sibling, Snow, several times — no gate needed — and always greets her with gentle sniffs and a wagging tail. That said, she may give chase if a cat runs, so any kitty roommates should be dog-savvy.

She’s still working on potty training. While she’s never had a poop accident inside, she will pee with little warning. This will need continued work, patience, and a consistent schedule. Crate training is also a work in progress — she’s doing great with 6–7 hours and improving daily. She prefers to be crated near her humans at night and would absolutely love a spot in your bed once she’s fully house-trained.

Chloe is VERY much still a puppy. She’s clumsy, full of beans, and has no concept of personal space. She’ll plow into you, jump up beside (or on top of) you, and toss her hard little head around with zero hesitation. A confident resident dog would be ideal — someone to show her the ropes and be her playmate and role model. She absolutely adores her foster brother Titan and mimics his every move.

While her exercise needs aren’t too high right now, we expect them to increase as she continues to get healthy. She’ll need an active home that can meet those needs and provide continued structure. She’s still fearful of loud noises and unsure on walks — especially in busy or unpredictable environments. Bars, patios, or social events may never be her comfort zone, but with time, patience, and the right support, she may surprise you.

Chloe thrives with a calm, soft-spoken human. She’s sensitive to the word “no” and seems to have a past that’s left some emotional bruises. Gentle leadership, consistency, and positive reinforcement will be key.

Some of our favorite Chloe facts:

  • She waits like a little princess, paws crossed, while you prepare her meals.

  • Her tail never stops wagging.

  • She’s never jumped up to greet a human (though she does leap straight up in excitement like a little kangaroo).

  • She’s non-destructive when left alone briefly and just curls up on the couch to nap.

  • And truly — she’s one of the sweetest, most lovable dogs you’ll ever meet.

Chloe is going to make someone very, very lucky. She just needs a little more time, structure, and a whole lot of love. Could that be you?
